Throughout his diverse career, Rod led and helped others lead complex, large-scale, transformation, performance improvement and turnaround efforts, alternating between global Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), strategy consulting, and international general management roles in the private, public, and social sectors.
A former White House Fellow under President Bush (41), Rod also led the transformation of the U.S. Department of Education as a senior political appointee under President Clinton. At Herman Miller, Inc., Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, and VeriSign, Inc., he served as CHRO and restructured and led global organizations to maximize talent and drive game-changing improvements in leadership and business performance. At Herman Miller, he also led successful turnarounds as Managing Director, Southeast Asia, and President of Herman Miller East Asia. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Hitachi Institute of Management Development, which is responsible for global leadership development and business transformation across Hitachi, Ltd, one of the world’s largest integrated electronics companies.
